TECHNOLOGY FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Shelter is one of the basic needs of man along side food and clothing. Though basic, good shelters  are in short supply in the rural communities as many settle for accomodations not fit to keep them warm in rainy season or cool in hot weathers .

Majority of the houses are constructed with mud, sticks, and thatch. These materials are not sturdy and are easily destroyed by weather elements. Leaking roofs, leaking and cracked walls and wet flooded floors are characteristics of this type of housing. Safety and comfort are absent for the people living in these houses.

Considering a major percentage of the population without home, BKF, in collaboration with our international partners, has embarked on the construction of low cost, cheap but effective sandwich panel houses for widows and orphans in rural communities. Sandwich panels allow for both rapid construction and a solid home that will stand for generations. The benefits of our sandwich panel homes include
• Shorter building time
• Rigid construction
• Improved thermal qualities
• No more flimsy thatch and mud houses especially because our new building technology is cost effective.

We build through the support of our partners. Partner with us today.
